7 things you must to see/s or do/s in Langkawi, Malaysia!

It is been a year when I am on the road, and I tell you I am still craving for it. Let's say I always follow my feelings which I always do and so after getting bored in Melaka and a night in Kuala Lumpur, I want to be in the road again so I jump to a train and looking forward to seeing Langkawi!
As a traveler, I always suggest you have Rome2rio app in your phone to help you how to get a place where you want to go -it will give you options from the plane, train to buses. Also, it will you an approximate price to each vehicle including the amount of time of travel.

The following pictures are from Kuala Lumpur with Alissa and Jopay! I recommend if you will be in Kuala Lumpur and in budget with a very good view, book at Skybed dorm- it is only 10 USD with very good ac, balcony, sala and free pool with a twin tower at the background. I had a very good one night stay and celebrating my one year and a birthday to that gorgeous Turkish woman- Alisa and my bisdak buoatan nga bayot- Jopay!

Breakdown cost!

Kuala Lumpur Sentral to Arau - 98 ringgit
Arau to Kuala Perlis - by bus - 1 USD / by taxi 7-10usd
Kuala Perlis to Langkawi by boat - 18 ringgit / 6 USD
Langkawi Jetty port to your hostel will depend if it's far, mine was 25 ringgit/ 7-8 USD to Backstreet Monkey hostel

*Please do not overlook*
train from Kuala Lumpur to Arau departs only 7 am and 6 pm and it is a 5-6 hours train journey
Also, the boat from Kuala Perlis to  Langkawi only operates from 7 am to 7 pm.

Because I just go without plans, I arrived in Arau at 12 midnight and no boat anymore. I checked booking.com but there is no dorm available it is all pricey hotels. I was thinking okay I will stay in the station and probably slept there, or get a massage and stay until morning as I have a back problem and maybe just book a hotel. I spent 100 USD already in 3 days and I need to stretch my budget as I can so I will lower my expenses as possible as I can so I can sustain this traveling.

By the way, Do not buy xiaomi phone if you want to travel by grab as grab app on the phone is very helpful for you to get to a place you want to go. Okay, you may have a chance to change the os of the xiaomi but it takes an expert Chinese person to do it.

I am on the lift trying to go down to find an exit and maybe walk and find a place to stay when a woman asks me if I am going to Langkawi. I told her that I am but I miss the boat and so I have to find a place to stay for a while and so she said that she is going to Langkawi too. I ask her if we can share in a grab to get to the town of Kuala Perlis but since her sister got a car and will pick her up, they give me a free ride which is very helpful, thank you Fairus and Hani.

On the car, it was amazing interaction that she said like this - "You know I was praying to Allah to help us for making the website of the orphanage, and I am happy to meet you". I had a free night stay in one of the spare room in an orphanage and I told them to make a free website for them as I already booked my 5 nights in Langkawi.

The breakfast was like a feast - too many foods but it is so good! Thank you for Fairuz- the sister of Hani, and thank you Hani.

then, Fairuz sent Hani and me to the port.

*Boat cost from Kuala Perlis- Langkawi - 18 ringgit

The boat journey is around 30 minutes and when I get to the Langkawi port, Hani helped me to book a grab to the place I paid for 5 days- it was around 7 USD because it is like 15 minutes away from the beach and Cenang beach is another 30 minutes

When I arrived in the Backstreet Monkey hostel- it was too hot as no ac from 12 noon to 5 pm, that is too crazy! But without any doubt, I open my laptop and work as I have some work that was delayed because of my travel time that was spent into sleeping as no internet works along the way.

* Backstreet Monkey and Arma Guest House is the cheapest dormitory hostel you can get in Langkawi, Malaysia from 2USD and since there is a foreign tax that is around 1USD then probably you will pay 3USD per night. It is clean and okay just the bed sheet is thin and the AC is always turned off every 12 noon to 5 pm which is absolutely hot.

Also, no refunds and the toilet sometimes is not working, and yes the breakfast is toast, butter, jam, and coffee but it only from 10 am to 2pm. And if you want an early check out to catch flight like Jayson had a request if he can have breakfast at 7 am, it is a no. There is no "compromise" at all. The lockers also no padlock you have to have your own or you will have a deposit for 10 ringgit. No towel also you have to deposit. So just give you heads up to be ready to less your expectation when you choose this place.

Whilst working and a headset on, some guest went back from an Island hopping and one of them is Jayson who was my roommate in Melaka before. These guys were actually my roommate and they are all talkative, so it was not hard to get along so far, Thank you, guys!

7 things you must to see/s and do/s in Langkawi, Malaysia!

1. Cenang Beach- this is a public beach where tourist always goes. This beach has a very nice sunset with a combination of a parachute, jetski, boat, airplane, sky, mountains, the ocean in a picture, which is absolutely awesome!

Perfect Sunset in Cenang Beach

2.  Rent a car to see an island- usually, an automatic car rent cost per day is 100 ringgit and petrol starts 2 ringgit per liter. In this way, you can see the island so freely, those jungles and hidden beaches are all possible if u rent a car. Driving license is not that big deal but if u do have that is better for sure. Big thanks to Naman who was our driver back then and he got a license. :)

3. Jungle Hopping

4. Beach Hopping- check some beach along the way that is not with commercialized yet- you will found locals and some friendly animals like lizards, monkeys, and eagles. If you are adventurous like me- this would absolutely make your day!

5. Roti Tisu- it is like Naman from India but it is sweet. It comes with condense milk and it is crunchy. Also, there are many flavors you can choose.
The story of this that I cannot forget is- my roommates told me to have roti tisu and when I asked them what is the taste they told me it is sweet and I told them that I won't buy that thought as I don't like sugar that much but then when I was in the restaurant by myself I ordered it and I saw Naman but he is not saying hi so he saw I ordered it then when I came back to the room they are like- So you do not like sugar but you ordered Roti Tisu? Lol Why not? hahahhaha

6. Rent a bike- If the car is expensive and you do not know how to drive it like me- Bike is the best option. Biking and checking place is the best way to see the island- it is just hot but you can always grab water along the way, so why not.

7. Check Promos!- especially the accommodation because sometimes from 180 ringgit you can have 50 ringgit for hotel resort like where I am now. Nahdho Langkawi resort with a buffet breakfast, good view of mountains and clean toilets, also u can see the sunrise and sunset in your balcony- which is absolutely awesome!

In this blog, I want to dedicate this to

Fairuz and Hani- who gave me a very night place to stay when I was in the middle of the night as I miss my boat, Thank you so much and see you this Friday Fairuz and

These lads who made my Langkawi trip- easy, cheap and fun! My man side was out for a while.

To the Universe and my dearly boss and all clients around the world who provide and make my life amazing as I wanted it to be.

To my Family and friends who believe in me, thank you!

PS . last three days I received a message from my teacher Engr. Rowena Dapar,
Thank you Maam/ Engr. Wen, I am so speechless that even I wasn't an Engineer today you are still proud of me. Before I was in question why my life transition was fast and was hard, I wanted to be an Engineer like my dad but the situation hit me that I chose another path and today I realized that all the dots are slowly connecting to each other. I am not an Engineer today but because I never cheated on my studies especially in programming subject, it made my job now easy and not behind like a beginner does.

I will share this prayer when my father had a stroke where the doctor opens his head 5 times and my prayer was " Lord, just save my father and I will do the plans you made for me, I will wait and follow what you want me to become- Let me be in place and meet the people where you want me to be, it is okay if I will not be an Engineer, just save my father" Since then I do not plan my life, instead I trust his plans for me. Today I was not an Engineer like my father- I do programs, website, and a virtual assistant of one of the vet clinic in America (THANK YOU DR. MARTIN NEHER FOR BEING AN AWESOME BOSS SO FAR AND NEVER GIVING UP ON ME, THANK YOU!). Along the way I do volunteers and help people, I do miss my family but along the way, God or my Universe always helps me out to continue my life, and I am so grateful about it.

I thank all my past and to all the people I met along the way, the training and discipline that I earned made me who I am today, Thank you all! :)
Because of traveling, I learned to understand how life works that in even animals, I felt their feelings and I bow to them as a respect to their lives, traveling makes me like an oldie but I felt it is really worth to take!
