280 Pesos/ 7 usd Thailand to Malaysia for 3 hours Train Trip! Story + Tips + Cost Breakdown!

Cheap? Totally Cheap! That is why I am still stuck in Southeast Asia because aside that is composed of different amazing has to offer for sightseeing to food, it is also cheap to stay!

Albeit, countries have a different standard of living but when you know how to live the simplest life as you can then you can also afford to do it!

One thing that makes it cheap is - you do not have to take a flight for countries that can be traveled by lands like train and buses.

Definitely, my title is surprising because it is damn so cheap and so short travel. The following is the breakdown cost

Hatyai Thailand- Padang Besar (border for 55 minutes *train) - 2usd or 80 pesos
(Bangkok Thailand- Hatyai Thailand *24usd by bus - just if you are in Bangkok)
Pedang Basar to Butterworth, Malaysia (1hr- 51 mins *train) - 4 usd or 200 pesos

And there you go YOU ARE IN MALAYSIA ALREADY!

Butterworth is a nice place but I recommend you to cross the by boat to Penang, Malaysia to GEORGETOWN for only 1 Ringgit and 1 usd = 4 ringgit and that 1 ringgit is already a back and forth for the boat which means from Georgetown to Butterworth - NO NEED TO PAY!

Georgetown is one of my best city that I have been as it has been a mixture of culture, food and people. I found out that Malaysian they can speak 4 languages - MALAY, CHINESE, ENGLISH and INDIAN.

The food and culture that I found out - made me fall in love with this City!

Accommodation varies to your type the least cost starts 10 usd including tax.

TAKE NOTE: ALL FOREIGNERS SHOULD PAY EXTRA EVERY NIGHT FOR FOREIGN TAX.
If you see in booking it is only 7 usd then it is not exactly you will pay usually 1 more usd or more.

Georgetown- this is when I trveled by boat from Butterworth to Georgetown :)

Georgetown, Malaysia - English buildings!

Watching a Chinese drama in real, also in Georgetown Penang , Malaysia.

Indian Culture that is also in Georgetown, Malaysia :)

Georgetown, Malaysia when I left on my way to Butterworth then Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Mee Goreng or Friend Noodle from Georgetown Penang, Malaysia. they actually have soup with sardines but I need to find where I save that photo, maybe I will share in another blog :)

My Kuala Lumpur blog will be in another blog as it is another story and I have so much to say about Kuala Lumpur too.

Also, from Butterworth to Kuala Lumpur by bus for 5 hours is only 9 usd.
