7 things you must see/s and do/s in Jaisalmer, India + cost breakdown!

Jaisalmer or known as the golden city of India is a city in the Indian state of Rajasthan, located 575 kilometers (357 mi) west of the state capital Jaipur. The town stands on a ridge of yellowish sandstone and is crowned by the ancient Jaisalmer Fort. This fort contains a royal palace and several ornate Jain temples. Many of the houses and temples of both the fort and of the town below, are built of finely sculptured sandstone. The town lies in the heart of the Thar Desert (the Great Indian Desert) and has a population, including the residents of the fort, of about 78,000. It is the administrative headquarters of Jaisalmer District. Jaisalmer was once the capital of Jaisalmer State.

Cost Breakdown!

1 usd = 70 rupees

Amritsar - Jalandhar- Lalghar- Jaisalmer (train) : 4 usd/ 280 rupees
room no ac per night: 1 USD/ 70 Rupees! (I booked my night in "The Wanderlust Guesthouse". There are many cheap rooms and it's not consistent sometimes they go up high it really depends on the season and the marketing of the property.
water= 20 rupees
food per meal cost - 1usd and above; depending on your taste and choice
Jaisalmer or the desert safari package tour including a camel ride, one night in the desert with food and jeepney ride - starts from 1500 rupees but I am with my friends so we try to bargain it until we only pay 125o rupees each.


7 things you must to see/s or do/s in Jaisalmer, India

1. Try the Lassi outside of the fort 
-okay you can have a normal lassi or with extra kick high :P



2. The Fort
- This is where people usually go first. This is where you can see the palace, the Jainism temple, the small road with markets, the viewpoint to see the overlooking and can be also the sunset and yes the bats attached to the big arc door of the fort.




3. Get a room, it's cheap! At least you give yourself a fancy night at an affordable price! With ac cost more but not that much too.

4. Camel Ride in Sand Dunes
- this is part of the tour package we get! Totally scary at first but definitely you will enjoy later being so high and enjoying the sun starting to set! That is definitely a lovely time of my life to just feel how beautiful the world is.







5. Eat some cookies!
- this is good with friends! It is like alcohol it makes me sleep so easy! I kinda miss all the milky way view but I can still remember how amazing I was looking to the sky at the moment.

6. Old abandoned village
- they said it is one of the oldest village in Jaisalmer, a lovely golden building (not real gold but yellow bricks that maks it golden especially when the sunlight hits on the bricks)






7. Enjoy watching the Milky Way when you sleep in the desert!
- You can write your name and your crush name by the stars! Stars are a lot! You cannot count them all and I even saw some meteors! Just one of the best nights of my life!




Oh! Jose and I passed out (like sleeping apart ! lol), Davi was worried/ happy, Chris was laughing and Diego was Crying!








We did some dance and stories shared from experiences! Amazing trip to start traveling with Latino papas! yayyy 


This is where I met Davi after 5 years and he is plus 3. Jose from Peru - they were workmates in Brazil who flew from Brazil to India to have a drink with Davi, then Diego whom he traveled in Africa and Chris where they met on the way to Jaiselmer! :)
