7 things to see/s and do/s in Amritsar, India + Cost Breakdown

India is a big country with a diverse of everything! So doing research is just an explosive idea on what to do in this country. But, Amritsar? I never include this on my list until Genius suggested it. And since my road is from North going South- Amritsar is the best Idea.

When I arrived in India in Jaipur Airport move to Udaipur and decided to start North- the Himachal Pradesh- the road from Udaipur to Delhi- Chandigarh-Dharamshala is not a fun trip at all. It is 18 hours or more, trains with very uncomfortable facilities and the road from Chandigarh to Dharamshala makes me sick - very curvy road with a maniac driver!

Oh, by the way, bug thanks to Naman to help me out from Udaipur to Delhi train trip- I owe you for that, see you soon! from Chandigarh to Dharamshala I was caught by a policy of not having a ticket that I have to pay 500 rupees. Thank God I had enough cash at that time but to be honest I consider it is not my fault, I keep asking where to buy a ticket and everyone say go to  that bus and I even asked the driver and the driver said yes so I was waiting for them to issue me a ticket and pay them by cash. But it looks like its all my fault and I am helpless in that situation, no one is helping me to translate my English to Hindi and my phone is dying for translation.

Cost Breakdown! 1usd = 70rupees

Udaipur- Delhi - 1000 rupees above by train
Delhi to bus station to Chadigarh by tuktuk - 300 rupees

*cost breakdown from Dharamshala to Amritsar
Mcleodganj - Dharamshala bus station - 300 rupees
Dharamshala to Amritsar (a 5 hours ride) - 300 rupees!

FYI: PLAIN ROAD NOT CURVY!

Top 7 things to see/s and do/s in Amritsar, India

1. Wagah Border - the border that has a ceremony every afternoon - 5pm for summer and earlier of 5 like 4 if it is winter *Always asked the reception of your homestay to go to this ceremony. This ceremony is FREE and it is about Pakistan and Indian army showing off their strenght and flexibility. More Indians attended this ceremony as India has a big stadium than Pakistan and it is more fun in India side. They even play the music - Jaiho, You are the reason that I breathe!

From Nutz Backpacker to here and come back - its 700 rupee- it is a package - the more the cheaper and merrier. But at that time, its only me and Ketan so 350 rupees individually.

Also, foreigners have another place to sit on, so no worries you will be in VIP Section with a less people in cue! :)

2. Never visit Amritsar if you love Shopping on Saturday!
- Yes, I arrived there on Saturday and 97 percents of the shops are closed. The only restaurants that are open are near the Golden Temple.
This the meal I got when most of the shops are closed and the only open restaurant is near in the Golden Temple. FYI, VEGETARIAN, as always -Country's choice not my choice hahaha

3. The Golden Temple- the temple of Sikh religgion that offers FREE FOOD, FREE PLACE TO STAY AND NO NEED TO WASH YOUR DISHES. Just cover your head a cloth to enter the temple and never missed the meal with thousands of people, unfortunately no camera allowed.

4. Stay in #Nutzbackpacker for your stay
- This is like my home where I can cook the food that I wanted as I am very picky of my food. They have a common area to pamper the super hot outside, the beds are cleaned and ac at night and lastly they are very helpful and give you freebie sometimes~!

Some guest from Delhi and the first guy with orange on the right side is one of the staff in this hostel :)

5. Main Street! - this is where you can find all shopping centers, international fast food chain like McDonalds and Subway, and lastly where banks and western Union are located.

6. #CharmingChicken for the Best Tandoori Chicken! JUST TANDOORI! :)

7. Enjoy the outside temple street- the real what we know India is- traffic, dusty, crowded but amazing Signage and crazy tangled wires.

In Philippines, Di Hati means not half.. So for me it is funny Babe, not half :DDD

Oh this looks not bad tangled :)
